About Us

The Plywood Kitchen is our family's passion project. My husband and I are former professional brewers and have always had a need and a desire for creating and making things from scratch. If you were to come to our house and look in our kitchen you would likely see batches of home-brew fermenting on the counter, some bread dough rising in the sun, and many other projects on the go. And of course, lots of soap! 

Through this desire to create, we stumbled upon Cold-Process Soaps. While on a mission to be more aware of what we put in and on our body, we decided to try making soap at home to see how it would turn out. After making our first batch we were hooked! One batch of soap soon tuned into many, many more, and so we thought we would share our soap with you, so you and your family can enjoy it as well! 

Each batch of soap is hand-poured in our kitchen. (We use the evening hours to make soap while our kids are asleep). Our soap is only made with natural ingredients so it not only feels good, but it is good for your skin. Every day is spent dreaming of soap, writing and re-writing soap recipes, and coming up with new soap flavours, so from our little kitchen to yours, we hope you enjoy our soap!
